I was reading this article about one of my favourite rugby teams and their preperations for the upcoming World Cup and I must say I was struck by the odd choice of photographs included in it. I’m wondering if anyone shares the sense that whoever chose the pictures probably doesn’t like Wales too much, observe:
A charming portrait of the captain, Gareth Thomas. He looks like Vol…I mean He-who-must-not-be-named..here. I refuse to believe there is not another picture in existence where he looks better than this.
The coach Gareth Jenkins flipping the bird. Surely the person who chose this image must have noticed the rude gesture!
Anyone else think this is weird?

Hah! Well, maybe the captains pic captures his excitement and joy after the match, hence the missing teeth.
The coach? It’s probably accidental. Amusing nevertheless.
They’re both Gareth’s?

few more teeth left to go into the stomach. Seems he wants them also to go.

heh. It’s the Beeb. Of course they don’t like the Welsh rugby team
Unfair generalization, but most English fans waver between insecurity and patronizing comments re: the Welsh rugby union team.
Every other guy in Wales is called Gareth
They’re all called Jones
It’s the law or something.

Jester – you see excitement and joy in that picture? Really? I get quite scared looking at it. And as drac mentions, everyone in Wales either has the first name Gareth or the last name Evans.
Dogfight – haha…
Drac – hehe…yeah well since I’m an unashamed Welsh support (on account of having half Welsh cousins and a medical link to the rugby team) I have come across those comments, a lot!
