Jayantha Dharmadasa, Upali Dharmadasa, Thilan Sumathipala and all those other clowns who have in charge of Sri Lankan cricket for the last ten years. This wonderful article on the fallout of the Cricket World Cup had the priceless paragraph
“Walking into the most exciting job in world cricket. There is a lovely balance between the old legs and new ones, the captain himself is beautifully poised in between and the team appears on the verge of big things. The board, though, is as crazy as they come in the subcontinent.” (bold mine)
Now isn’t that the truth. Very funny though.
P.S. there have been a few decent people like Sidath Wettimuny but they have been few and far between. It’s a wonder our team is so good with such nutters in charge.

Fantastic article! Thanks for the link

Cricket is a gentleman’s game…you need gentlemen at the helm.
That said…the cricket board is typical of all positions of leadership in our country, don’t you think? Complete and utter mayhem…but we trundle along regardless.

I read the article and I agree - somehow the politics haven’t affected our team as much as it has India and Pakistan. For that, we must thank the captains in charge for the past 10 years.
Apparently, Arjuna had recently said that Sri lanka winning the world cup was greatest thing to happen to the country but the worst thing to happen for it’s cricket? Something along those lines anyway.
I’ll be happy when Thilanga takes his grubby hands off cricket. The rest are clowns, but harmless ones. Thilanga on the other hand..
